Riviera Hotel and Casino (former)

The Riviera opened in April 1955 as one of the earliest large resorts on the Las Vegas Strip and became an emblematic example of mid-20th-century Strip resort architecture. It closed in May 2015 and was demolished in phases beginning in 2016, removing a longstanding example of postwar resort design. The former Riviera site has since been the subject of redevelopment proposals and documentation of its architectural legacy.
