Belle–Hampton

Belle–Hampton, also known as Hayfield, is a historic house located near Dublin, Virginia, notable for its Federal and Italianate architectural styles. Built around 1826, the two-story brick dwelling features a significant addition from 1879. The estate includes various historical structures such as a swimming pool, tennis court, and a 19th-century kitchen/washhouse, along with a barn and granary. It was once the home of James Hoge Tyler, a prominent industrialist and former governor of Virginia. The property, which also has remnants of a private coal-mining operation, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, making it a fascinating site for tourists and researchers interested in Virginia's history.
