Belle Mont

Belle Mont is a historic plantation house located near Tuscumbia, Alabama, recognized for its Jeffersonian architectural style. Built between 1828 and 1832 for Dr. Alexander W. Mitchell, it showcases the influence of Thomas Jefferson on early American architecture. The house features a distinctive red brick design with a raised central section and U-shaped wings, creating a semi-enclosed courtyard.
