Charles Thompson Memorial Hall

Charles Thompson Memorial Hall, located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, is a historic clubhouse dedicated to Deaf culture, built in 1916 as the first social club in the U.S. designed exclusively for the deaf community. It was established by Margaret Thompson in memory of her husband, Charles, to foster social interaction among deaf individuals. The hall features a large assembly area, a bowling alley, and spaces designed for visibility of American Sign Language. Recognized for its architectural and social significance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011 and continues to serve as a vital hub for the deaf community in Minnesota.
