William Parker House

The William Parker House, located at 55 Walnut Street in Reading, Massachusetts, is a historic wood-frame house built around 1796. Initially expanded into a two-family residence in the early 19th century, it was later converted back to a single-family home in the early 20th century. The house is significant for its connection to William Parker, a notable dissenter from local Congregational Church doctrines. In 1910, it was purchased by Boston merchant Walter Scott Hopkins, who restored it to its original configuration. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, making it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
