Stratford Town Hall

Stratford Town Hall, a Grade II listed municipal building in London, was completed in 1869 and designed in the Italianate style by architects Lewis Angell and John Giles. Originally built to accommodate the growing local government needs due to industrial expansion, it features an impressive asymmetrical façade with a central portico and a distinctive square tower. The building has a rich history, serving as the headquarters for the Municipal Borough of West Ham and hosting significant events, including performances by famous bands like The Who. After a fire in 1982, it was restored and reopened as a conference centre by Queen Elizabeth II in 1986, making it a notable site for both tourists and researchers interested in local history and architecture.
