Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture

Founded as the Afro-American Cultural Center in 1974, the institution moved into its current Levine Center for the Arts building in Uptown Charlotte in 2009. The Gantt Center is Charlotte's primary institution dedicated to African-American visual art, history, and culture. It presents rotating exhibitions, public programs, and educational outreach focused on African-American artists and community history.
