University of Wales Registry

The University of Wales Registry, located in Cathays Park, Cardiff, serves as the administrative headquarters of the University of Wales, which was established in 1893. This historic building, designed by architect H.W. Wills in the English Renaissance style, became a Grade II listed structure in 1966. Notably, it features dragon sculptures by Welsh sculptor Goscombe John. The Registry played a crucial role in the university's function as a degree-awarding authority until its merger with the University of Wales Trinity Saint David in 2011.
