O'Neill House Office Building (1947)

The O'Neill House Office Building, located near the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C., has a rich history that dates back to its original construction as the Hotel Congressional in 1947. Initially serving as a hotel with furnished apartments and meeting spaces, it became a significant site for civil rights lobbying in the 1960s. Acquired by Congress in 1957, it transitioned to an office building in 1972, playing a role during the Watergate investigation. The building also housed dormitories for House Pages until its demolition in 2002, and today, a parking lot occupies the site.
