Wehmer House

The Wehmer House is a historic 1½-story brick building in Guttenberg, Iowa, built between 1856 and 1862 by George Wehmer. Originally designed as a duplex, it features connected chimneys and later-added dormers. The house has a rich history, transitioning from a private residence to a lumber yard and back to a home by the mid-20th century. It was recognized for its historical significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
