San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA)

SFMOMA was founded in 1935 as one of the first museums on the U.S. West Coast devoted to modern and contemporary art. The museum is located in a building at 151 3rd Street and underwent a major expansion and renovation that reopened to the public in 2016. SFMOMA houses large collections of painting, sculpture, photography, architecture, and design and is a focal point for contemporary art in the city.
