Takizawa Honjin

The Takizawa Honjin is a historic building located in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima, Japan, originally serving as a resting place for the daimyō of Aizu Domain during the Edo period. Designated as an Important Cultural Property and a National Historic Site, the structure dates back to 1678 and features traditional architectural elements, including a thatched roof and an earthen floor. It played a significant role during the Boshin War as a field headquarters, with visible battle scars still present. Today, it operates as a museum, offering visitors a glimpse into Japan's feudal history and the region's cultural heritage.
