Shubert Theatre (Broadway house)

The Shubert Theatre, located on West 44th Street in the Theater District, opened in 1913 and was built by the Shubert brothers as part of their expanding Broadway theater empire. The house has presented countless Broadway productions over more than a century and is owned and operated by the Shubert Organization, a major theatrical management company. The theatre's historical role in premiering and hosting Broadway shows has made it a continuing landmark of New York's commercial theater scene.
