Institute of Texan Cultures (Hemisfair)

The Institute of Texan Cultures, opened as part of HemisFair '68, is a museum and research center documenting the cultural history of Texas, with extensive collections and exhibitions on Mexican-American history and the Texas–Mexico borderlands. Its archives and rotating exhibits have included materials related to the Bracero program, immigration, and cross-border cultural exchange, making it a major repository for documented border-related history in San Antonio. The institute is a Smithsonian affiliate and serves as a regional center for borderlands scholarship and public exhibitions.
