Kirriemuir Town House

Kirriemuir Town House, located in the heart of Kirriemuir, Angus, Scotland, is a historic municipal building completed in 1604, showcasing Scottish medieval architecture. Originally serving as a lock-up and assembly room, it played a vital role in the local weaving industry in the 19th century. The building underwent significant renovations in the 1860s, including the addition of a striking clock tower. After serving various purposes, including a post office and retail space, it was transformed into the Kirriemuir Gateway to the Glens Museum in 2001, featuring exhibits related to notable figures like J. M. Barrie and Bon Scott. The museum closed in October 2023, marking the end of an era for this iconic structure.
