National Capitol Columns at the U.S. National Arboretum

A row of 22 monumental Corinthian columns stands in a meadow at the U.S. National Arboretum, having been relocated from the east front of the U.S. Capitol. The columns are a remnant of early 19th-century Capitol architecture and were re-erected on the arboretum grounds as a striking but secluded landmark. They sit away from the Mall and are often missed by visitors who do not travel to the arboretum's New York Avenue location.
