Hurricane Tavern

Hurricane Tavern, also known as Workman Farm, is a historic district located near Woodruff in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. This site features a collection of 30 contributing buildings, including a Federal style brick farmhouse dating back to around 1811, which underwent significant renovations in the 1850s and Bungalow modifications in the 1920s. Visitors can also explore a frame farmhouse from the 1880s, a country store from the 1920s, and various agricultural outbuildings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The district was recognized for its historical significance and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001, making it a noteworthy destination for tourists and researchers interested in American history and architecture.
