Cragwold

Cragwold, also known as the Edwin A. Lemp Estate, is a historic house located in St. Louis County, Missouri, built in 1911. This impressive estate, one of four constructed by affluent St. Louis families with German-American roots, showcases the Arts and Crafts architectural style. The centerpiece, an 11,000-square-foot residence, features a stunning central atrium filled with tropical plants and exotic birds. In the 1920s, the estate expanded to include a variety of exotic animals, as Lemp operated it as a Federal Game Farm. Recognized for its historical significance, Cragwold was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 2009 and is adjacent to Emmenegger Nature Park, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers alike.
