Palazzo Capua

Palazzo Capua, an early 19th-century Neoclassic palace located in Sliema, Malta, was originally built by banker and philanthropist Biagio Tagliaferro. Known for its striking architectural features, including a columned façade, the palace was once surrounded by picturesque countryside before Sliema's development. It later became the residence of Prince Carlo de Borbon and his wife, Penelope Caroline Smyth. Today, Palazzo Capua serves as a boutique hotel and an English language college, while the remnants of its gardens now house St James Capua Hospital. The building's design is attributed to architect William Scamp, making it a notable landmark for both tourists and researchers interested in Malta's architectural heritage.
