Rothko Chapel (interfaith ritual and meditation site)

The Rothko Chapel is a non-denominational chapel in Houston commissioned by John and Dominique de Menil and completed in 1971. It houses a series of large paintings by Mark Rothko installed to create a meditative environment. The chapel functions as an international center for meditation, interfaith services, and public vigils, and is frequently used for contemplative and ecumenical rituals.
