Poplar Lane

Poplar Lane, also known as Ballygomingo, is a historic house located in Gulph Mills, Pennsylvania, built in 1758. It served as General George Washington's headquarters in December 1778 before the Continental Army's winter at Valley Forge. The house has undergone several expansions, notably in 1816 and 1821, resulting in its current 10-bay, two-and-a-half-story structure with a distinctive portico. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1978, Poplar Lane features a gallery showcasing 18th and 19th-century artifacts, particularly related to the Revolutionary War and Pennsylvania history, making it a fascinating destination for tourists and researchers alike.
