Grinnell Herald Building

The Grinnell Herald Building, a historic site in Grinnell, Iowa, was established in 1869 and showcases Neoclassical architecture. Designed by the notable firm Proudfoot, Bird & Rawson, it was constructed in 1916 to house the Grinnell Herald newspaper. After a merger in 1936 with its competitor, the Grinnell Register, it became the home of the Grinnell Herald-Register. This building not only reflects the rich journalistic history of the area but also stands as a testament to early 20th-century architecture, earning a place on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991, making it a significant attraction for both tourists and researchers.
