Victoria Works, Birmingham

Victoria Works is a historic Grade II listed building located in the Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham, England. Built between 1839 and 1840 for the Joseph Gillott pen company, it played a significant role in the 19th-century Birmingham pen trade, which established the city as the world's leading manufacturer of steel pens. The factory was notable for its size, employing nearly 600 workers and utilizing powerful steam engines for production. Although pen manufacturing ceased in 1956, the building has since been repurposed into apartments and offices, housing various businesses. Visitors may find interest in its rich industrial heritage and its historical significance, including a visit from Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, in 1874.
