Guardian Building - Art Deco 'Cathedral of Finance'

The Guardian Building is a 40-story Art Deco skyscraper completed in 1929 and is celebrated for its brightly colored tilework, mosaics, and vaulted banking hall. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and long served as a major downtown banking center. The building's distinctive interior design and use of Rookwood tile make it one of Detroit's most widely cited examples of Art Deco architecture.
