Fuhrmannhaus

Fuhrmannhaus is the oldest surviving house in the western part of Vienna, dating back to the 17th century. It features a historically significant stair railing from 1687 and remnants of a Roman watchtower and medieval settlement. The building houses a small hall adorned with late 17th-century frescoes, which is used for cultural events like classical concerts and readings. Visitors can also enjoy a traditional Viennese wine tavern and participate in various events in the courtyard, including art exhibitions and seasonal markets. The house has a rich history, having changed ownership multiple times, and is named after Franz Xaver Fuhrmann, who operated a wagon company there in the 19th century.
