Whaley House (1857) - Old Town San Diego

The Whaley House was constructed in 1857 by Thomas Whaley and served as a combined family residence and commercial building in Old Town San Diego. It later housed a courthouse, general store, and theater and is one of the earliest permanent brick structures in the city. The house is preserved as a museum within Old Town San Diego State Historic Park and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
