Fort Mifflin

Fort Mifflin on the Delaware River was first constructed in the 18th century and played a defensive role during the American Revolutionary War, notably enduring the 1777 Siege of Fort Mifflin. The site retains earthenworks, masonry batteries, and later 19th-century fortifications that illustrate evolving coastal and river-defense infrastructure. Fort Mifflin is preserved as a National Historic Landmark and is interpreted for public tours and educational programs.
