Transamerica Pyramid

The Transamerica Pyramid was designed by architect William Pereira and completed in 1972 as the headquarters skyscraper for Transamerica Corporation. At 853 feet tall, it was the tallest building in San Francisco for decades and remains one of the city's most recognizable skyline features. Its distinctive pyramid shape was chosen to allow more natural light to reach the streets below in the dense Financial District.
