Sunset Hill (Alderson, West Virginia)

Sunset Hill, also known as the Alderson Home, is a historic house located in Alderson, West Virginia. Built in 1880, this two-story I house features elegant side gables and a striking gable portico supported by four Doric columns. The property includes several notable structures, such as a cottage from around 1900, a privy constructed by the Works Progress Administration in the mid-1930s, a barn, a cistern dating back to 1880, and entrance gates from 1925. Recognized for its historical significance, Sunset Hill was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers interested in architectural history and heritage.
