El Cortez Hotel and Casino (historic downtown casino)

El Cortez opened in 1941 and is one of the oldest continuously operating casino-hotels in Las Vegas, illustrating early casino-hotel construction and downtown hospitality infrastructure. The property on Fremont Street retains its original hotel building and classic neon signage elements that reflect mid-20th-century casino design and lighting technology.
