University of Denver (founding by John Evans)

The University of Denver, now located at 2199 S University Blvd, was founded in 1864 as Colorado Seminary by John Evans, who later served as territorial governor and was a prominent figure in early Colorado development. Evans and other civic leaders established the institution during Denver's formative years; the university remains a longstanding center for higher education in the region.
