Kingsbury House

The Kingsbury House, located at 137 Suffolk Street in Chestnut Hill, Newton, Massachusetts, is a historic timber frame structure with origins dating back to as early as 1686. This 2+1⁄2-story house is one of the few surviving First Period houses in the area, showcasing architectural styles from the early 18th century. It has a rich history, particularly in the 19th century when it was associated with the prominent Kingsbury family, known for their significant landholdings in Chestnut Hill. Recognized for its historical importance, the Kingsbury House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 and is part of the Old Chestnut Hill Historic District, making it a noteworthy site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture and local history.
