Goodnow Hall (Grinnell College)

Goodnow Hall is the oldest building on the Grinnell College campus in Iowa, constructed after a tornado in 1882. Named after abolitionist Edward A. Goodnow, who funded its creation, the building originally served as a library and now houses various academic departments. Designed in the Richardsonian Romanesque style, it features distinctive granite exterior and a historic tower. Goodnow Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, making it a notable site for both tourists and researchers interested in architecture and educational history.
