Pioneer Plaza cattle drive sculptures

Pioneer Plaza features a large public sculpture of 49 bronze longhorn steers and three trail riders created by sculptor Robert Summers, dedicated in 1994 to commemorate the 19th-century cattle drives that passed near Dallas. The installation is one of the largest bronze monument projects in the United States and highlights the role of cattle drives and cattlemen in the region's history. Pioneer Plaza is situated in downtown Dallas near the convention center and the old downtown cattle trail route.
