Bogota (Port Republic, Virginia)

Bogota, also known as Bogota Farm, is a historic antebellum mansion located near Port Republic, Virginia, built in 1847 on the site of an earlier home from 1756. This well-preserved Greek Revival style house features a grand two-story portico and retains many original interior details, including English-made locks. The estate, which spans 244 acres, was the site of military action during the Civil War's Battle of Port Republic in 1862. Visitors can explore the main house, various outbuildings, and archaeological sites, including a potential slave burial ground, making it a significant location for both history enthusiasts and tourists.
