Milano Hotel

The Milano Hotel, located on California Highway 1 near Gualala, California, is a historic site built in 1905 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1978. Originally operated by Italian immigrant Batiste Luchinetti, it served as a hotel, saloon, and dining room, offering stunning views of the Pacific Ocean from its cliffside location. Remarkably, it survived the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, with only minor damage to its bar. The hotel features a 'flat front Italianate' architectural style and includes additional structures such as a carriage shed and a small barn, making it a fascinating destination for tourists and researchers alike.
