Suffolk House, Penang

Suffolk House is a historic mansion located in Penang, Malaysia, originally built as the residence of Francis Light, the founder of the British settlement in Penang. The site features two buildings, with the current Georgian-style mansion constructed in 1805. It served as a residence for early governors and a venue for significant political discussions, including talks that led to the founding of Singapore. After various uses, including a school, the mansion fell into disrepair but was restored and opened to the public in 2009. Today, it offers guided tours and showcases Malaysia's colonial heritage amidst beautiful gardens.
