Frescati House

Frescati House was a notable Georgian estate in Blackrock, Dublin, built in 1739 for John Hely Hutchinson, Provost of Trinity College. Acquired by the FitzGerald family in the 1750s, it became a summer retreat and was extensively renovated, tripling in size and featuring elegant interiors and landscaped gardens. The house was a hub for social and political gatherings, including meetings of the United Irishmen, and was frequented by prominent figures like Lord Edward FitzGerald. Despite its historical significance, Frescati was demolished in 1983 to make way for a shopping center, marking the end of an era for this once fashionable seaside residence.
