Jonathan and Simon Hosmer House

The Jonathan and Simon Hosmer House, located at 300 Main Street in Acton, Massachusetts, is a well-preserved colonial-era house built in 1760. This unique double house features a square plan and a typical colonial 'half house' design, complete with Georgian entries. Built by Jonathan Hosmer, Jr., a notable bricklayer and military figure, the house showcases his craftsmanship through its numerous fireplaces. After serving various owners, including a local dry goods merchant, it was acquired by the Acton Historical Society in 1974 and is now operated as a museum. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in colonial architecture and local history.
