Adams Building, Nottingham

The Adams Building, a Grade II*-listed structure in Nottingham's Lace Market district, was opened in 1855 as a lace showroom and warehouse. Designed by architect Thomas Chambers Hine, it features an Anglo-Italian style and innovative 'lace lofts' that became characteristic of the local lace industry. The building reflects the philanthropic vision of its owner, Thomas Adams, who provided humane working conditions for his employees. After serving various functions over the years, including a factory and storage space, it is now part of Nottingham College's city campus, showcasing its historical significance and architectural beauty.
