Old Stone House (Morgantown, West Virginia)

The Old Stone House, built around 1796, is a historic two-story stone structure located in Morgantown, West Virginia. It showcases early rustic pioneer architecture and was once home to potter John W. Thompson, who crafted pottery from local clay. The house features a later timber-frame addition and has served as the headquarters for the Morgantown Service League since 1935, which operates a gift shop on-site. Recognized for its historical significance, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972 and is situated in the Downtown Morgantown Historic District.
