Riparian bald cypress and live oaks at McKinney Falls State Park

McKinney Falls State Park protects stands of riparian trees-including bald cypress, live oak, and cedar elm-along Onion Creek that frame the park's Upper and Lower Falls. These tree communities are part of the park's documented natural resources and contribute to the scenic character of the waterfalls and creek corridors. The park is operated by Texas Parks and Wildlife and is a well-known site for seeing Texas riparian trees near Austin.
