Poloz Mukuch Beerhouse

Poloz Mukuch is a historic beerhouse located in Gyumri, Armenia's second-largest city, within the charming Kumayri district. Established in the 1960s, this restaurant occupies a beautifully preserved mansion from the 1860s, originally built by Ter-Suqias Meliqyan. Named after the local humorist Mkrtich Melkonyan, known as Poloz Mukuch, the beerhouse features traditional design elements and a bust of its namesake at the entrance. After being nationalized during the Soviet era, it was privatized in the late 1990s and has since become a prominent landmark, attracting both tourists and locals with its rich history and cultural significance.
