American Federation of Labor Building

The American Federation of Labor Building, completed in 1916, is a historic seven-story brick and limestone structure located in Washington, D.C. It served as the headquarters for the American Federation of Labor until 1955 and was later used by the Pipefitters Union. Declared a National Historic Landmark in 1974, its facade now forms part of the Washington Marriott Marquis hotel. The building is notable for its architectural features, including decorative limestone panels and a modillioned cornice, and represents a significant era in labor history, marked by a dedication speech from President Woodrow Wilson.
