Big Tex - 55-foot State Fair greeter

Big Tex is a 55-foot-tall cowboy figure that has served as the official greeter of the State Fair of Texas at Fair Park since 1952. The figure became an enduring symbol of the fair and Dallas; it was destroyed by fire in 2012 and a new, updated Big Tex debuted at the 2013 fair. The statue stands on the grounds of Fair Park and is a recognizable annual landmark during the State Fair's run.
