Arthur Young House

Arthur Young House, formerly known as the Ernst & Young building, was a notable office structure in central Christchurch, New Zealand, designed by architect Charles Thomas in a brutalist style. Constructed in the mid-1980s on the site of a church destroyed by arson, it served as a hub for various private firms, particularly financial companies. The building featured modern design elements, including white glass-reinforced concrete and marble interiors, and was well-received by the local community. Unfortunately, it was severely damaged in the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes and ultimately demolished in 2014 as part of a city redevelopment plan. The site now represents a significant chapter in Christchurch's architectural and urban history, making it of interest to both tourists and researchers.
