San Fernando Cathedral

Founded in 1731, San Fernando Cathedral is one of the oldest continuously functioning cathedrals in the United States and serves as the mother church of the Archdiocese of San Antonio. The current stone church includes elements from 18th- and 19th-century construction phases and contains the tombs of early Texas settlers and political leaders. Since 2012 the cathedral facade has been used nightly for the projection-mapping light show 'San Antonio | The Saga,' which presents the city's history through images and narration.
