St Peter's Seminary, Cardross

St Peter's Seminary, located near Cardross in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, is a notable example of modernist architecture designed by Gillespie, Kidd & Coia. Opened in 1966, it was intended to house up to 100 students but faced declining enrollment and maintenance issues, leading to its closure in 1980. Abandoned since 1987, the seminary has fallen into ruin, yet remains a Category A listed building, recognized for its architectural significance. The site, which includes the historic Kilmahew House and the ruins of Kilmahew Castle, is currently under the stewardship of the Kilmahew Education Trust, which aims to restore and reinstate its educational purpose.
