Frist Art Museum (former 1930s U.S. Post Office)

The Frist Art Museum occupies the former U.S. Post Office and Federal Building completed in 1934, an example of early 20th-century federal architecture with Art Deco-influenced detailing. The building was adaptively reused and opened as the Frist Center for the Visual Arts (now Frist Art Museum) in 2001. Its exterior and interior preserve federal-era materials and decorative motifs while housing rotating exhibitions of visual art.
