5Pointz Aerosol Art Center (former site)

5Pointz, located at 45-46 Davis Street in Long Island City, was an open-air graffiti and aerosol art mecca where hundreds of artists painted thousands of works on industrial building facades. The building owner whitewashed much of the artwork in 2013 and the structures were later demolished for redevelopment. In 2018 a federal jury awarded artists approximately $6.7 million under the Visual Artists Rights Act for the destruction of their works at the site.
